James Christensen

As you can easily tell from this site, one of our favorite artists is James Christensen. While our personal tastes lean towards his more “whimsical” works, Mr. Christensen is an artist of immense talent and great artistic range. The latest compilation of his works, “Men and Angels”, is a testament to this.

Our Collections page is your portal into some of his rarer works that we’ve had the opportunity to collect. Our three “Originals” sections contain oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings and pen & ink sketches – some of which have later been published as prints and canvases. Our “Etchings” section is mainly comprised of pieces that were self-published by Mr. Christensen prior to his affiliation with Greenwich Workshop. “Lithographs” contains both older pieces and new works that are available to attendees of his signings.

If you have the good fortune to have Mr. Christensen appearing personally in a gallery close to you, I highly recommend that you take the opportunity to attend. His slideshows provide a unique perspective into what influences and inspires both him and his art. In addition, he is an incredibly warm and engaging individual that takes the time to talk to each and every person that brings something for him to autograph.
